Most of us have never truly understood the meaning behind capes. First of all, there’s no convenience in wearing capes and secondly, capes are super hard to work with. We’ve got to agree that capes are statement pieces, styling it can cause a headache. Good news is that, we'll be sharing a few tips on how you can make capes work.
This is how the August Store Team would style it. For the RIVER RUN CAPE by SASS & BIDE comes with an attached vest, wearing a bralette would do. Pair it with a pair of super skinny bottom to tone down the bulkiness on top.
For capes that are entirely plain, add a pop of colour by wearing a pair of coloured heels. As for capes that are louder, wear a pair of flats to tone it down.
Those of you who are uncomfortable exposing too much chest, put on a statement necklace to draw attention away. For a more conservative look, wearing a t-shirt (v-neck, round neck) would do the job just fine (pictures below).
Capes carries a formal look in nature. Pair it with a nice pants (flair, cigarette, straight leg etc) to achieve a more formal/professional look or pair it with jeans (skinny or boyfriend) to achieve a more casual look, or as we'd like to say, cashh it down 😉
